71 Down, 1 to Go.
Thats one interferon jab left to go [this coming Friday] and then 7 more days of the ribavirin, although nurse said usually you stop the riba on the last jab. I like to play safe so will do the “extra” seven days.
Oh did I say one more jab :)
Everything is just fine although as the finish line has got ever closer things have been a little tougher. I have deliberately not worked out what my finish date is, just so I don’t get too hung up about finishing, but when its this close it gets harder to forget when it is. Exceptional busy at work which to be frank I could do without but responsibilities are responsibilities, treatment or not.
Seems to have been a lot of bad news in the world of late that can get you down. First we had the passing of James Brown [drug addict & wife beater], then Saddam Hussein [Iraqi patriot & freedom fighter], finally the surprising news that H from steps is actually gay came as another blow. Boy was I shocked.
Not much of an update I know but no a great deal happening, although I have got myself a new outfit as a reward for finishing, see below [I must trim the beard].

Your inspiration for this week, should you choose to accept it;
Winning isn’t always finishing first. Sometimes winning is just finishing.
- Manuel Diotte
And btw, keep the faith, kill the virus.
And btw, btw did I say I’ve just got one jab left? :)

Nevermind about the beard! You need to sort out that massive bulge in your trousers first;)
I wish you well HCB……..I think the word ‘Admiration’ is too useless a word to describe what we are all feeling for you! Most, if not all of us can only imagine just how you have managed 72 weeks of tx!
I just finished my ‘prescribed’ 48 the other day & I don’t think I would have managed so well if it wasn’t for my bike……….Waiting for result.
Good luck dude!

Congratulations HepC Boy - that is no small feat. I admire your fortitude and constitution. Although I do wonder about some of your outfits and disguises. You are a source of good humour as well as inspiration.
Wishing you well

The kitchen setting really complements the austere good taste of the outfit.
You’ll have taken that last jab by now. Congratulations, best wishes, and deepest respect! Stock up on anti-histamines. I got a fine itch afterwards. It still annoys some four weeks later. You may want some extra talc with the rubber trousers as well.

HA! You aint no boy, you is a grandad, well packed I’ll grant you but still a grandad. LOL Or is that what treatment has done to you?
Whatever, I suppose you will get younger on a daily basis now as those meds exit your system.
CONGRATULATIONS, wishing you all the best to SVR.

Well done and good luck! I cleared the virus two years ago now and haven’t looked back so I hope you have the same good news. How long do you have to wait to hear?

Just to update everyone. FDA has approved a new treatment regime for genotype 2 & 3 hepatitis c infection.
It involves using ribavirin according to the body weight of the patient together with the standard dose of Peginteron over a period of only 24 weeks. This is half the normal duration for genotype 1.
