The doctor has every single confidence in the world that this is EXACTLY HOW I CONTRACTED HCV.
I have had this disease for approximately 25 years. In the 80s I NEVER used a needle. I was a “rock star” (in my mind I guess) and we NEVER ran out of coke - when we did lovely “fans” gave us more more more to try and get close to us. I did a LOT and had a habit for at least 20 years.
The doctor fully believes that it is EASY for one person to use a straw..have microdroplets of blood (you know people who do coke have DREADFUL noses and just because you can’t SEE the blood sure doesn’t mean it’s not there) and then hand off to the next person who snorts not only the coke BUT the HCV as well. Since your nose is such a lovely moist warm bloodfilled place it’s quite SIMPLE to transfer it that way.

I was told that I contracted it from snorting cocain also…I just can’t believe it. Like you I never used IV drugs…nor did I have kinky sex with multiple partners…and yet I have the virus…

I am appalled at the lack of info in the medical community about how easy hep c is transmitted! During my interferon & pills, I had such profound side effects as to visit a cardiologist - for a cardiagram(!) and a neurologist for a brain MRI… both guys were shocked to hear I got this shit from snorting coke. True, it was a lot of coke, late 70’s. I guarantee people that there is no way so many people got it, who didn’t share needles, and yet nobody can explain how. It’s the sharp edge of a rolled up bill/note or a cut off straw that has been in someone else’s mucous membrane first!! Also, the c is 1000% more contagious than hiv.

The person I know with it the wife has it and now the husband . I wanted to know it this is something you can catch. Neither one is doing drugs just drink alot.
