Say Goodbye to Week 20, Sort Of….

Its really goodbye to week 19 and the start of week 20 but whose keeping score.

What have we learnt this week campers? We have learnt that food, sleep and water are very important.

Overall this week has been a bit flat, not dissimilar to last week, mainly I think down to my sleeping pattern being disrupted. I slipped into a nice routine, sleep at about 11pm and up at 6am, that worked great for me. I have never been a morning person, it takes me quite some time to get going and this is true whilst on treatment just a little magnified. A late night means a late start which means an even later functional time, makes me slip out of sync with the rest of the world.

Had a couple of slack days on the food and water angle, just forgetting to eat and drink due to a lack of appetite. I really need to concentrate more, simple stuff like that should be 100% nailed 100% of the time.

On the good news side me and the wife had a bit of an argument. I won’t bore you with the details but suffice to say my primary role in the family is to make the strategic decisions that will create the right environment for the familys happiness. Sometimes those decisions will place a burden on individual family members, 99% of the time that is me, this week the wifes 1% came into play. The reason that is good news is that made me realise we hadn’t had a cross word for 5 months, might give Ross Mcwhirter a call :)

Your inspirational quote for this week, should you choose to accept it…….

“Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it lasts forever.”

    You deserve a good telling off! You are a very naughty Hep C Boy! Write out 100 times ‘I must eat and drink the required amount every day’
    You know as well as I do, you are not helping yourself by getting lazy about such an important issue.
    Apart from that, and lack of ‘cross word’ stimulus! you appear to be doing well.

    Hep C Boy…i just want to say thank you for what you are doing with this site…my very good friend is now following the same course of treatment and your site has been helpful to me…letting me know a little of what to expect even though everyone’s experience is a little different…i really appreciate your no BS way of presenting the information, i have learned more “real” information here than any of the other websites that i have visited…i wish you and all who are fighting HepC the courage to continue to fight and the desired objective at the end of treatment…to be HepC free…you are all in my prayers…

    Week 6 - The Worst so Far !!

    Has anyone else had problems with the injection pens? I have had 3 malfunctions out of 7 used. Three different types of malfunctions with this last Saturday the 21st being the worst. I got a partial shot i got and giveand had to call the doctor. He asked me to come in on Monday and they would evaluate how much I got and give me the rest. They decided I did not get much so I got a full shot on Mondat at 8AM. It made for a long difficult week. Instead of being able to sleep for a day and a half after the shot I had to go straight to work. I ended up feeling very sick and tired all week. I went home from work 2 days early and had trouble eating also. I really felt overdosed. I had the worst side effects yet, severe fatigue, nausea and irritability. I am looking forward to the coming weekend and sleep. Keeping the Faith and needing some rest !

    >write out 100 times

    Will do Carol although I fear the punishment does not have the impact it once did :)

    @h = (1..100);
    foreach $variable (@h) {
    $variable .= ' I must eat and drink the required amount every day';
    }

    print join("n",@h),"n";

    Hey thanks cynthia, just remember to take in a wide range of information sources, I wouldn’t want my bias to adversly affect you.

    >Has anyone else had problems with the injection pens?

    I have seen a lot of compaints about the redipens, the Schering-Plough product. While not denyning that there may be problems with the pens it seems that the “malfunctions” only happen for certain people. From what I gather they are a little tricky to use and the instructions must be followed to the letter. I would just be concerned to make sure that you always have a spare on hand so a last of the prescription malfunction won’t effect you.
